I trust
you had a meaningful time with your son/ward during recent
the June holidays. It is always important for families to
spend time together. As we embark on a challenging semester
2, let us continue to look to God who has blessed the school
with His faithfulness and loving kindness. We can face our
tomorrows confidently knowing that our God goes before us.
I am pleased to
announce to you that 9 new teachers have joined us. Indeed
we are grateful to our God for His provision.
Summary of Important Events
in Term 3:
1. Primary One Registration Exercise
2005
MOE
has provided us with a list of pupils whose younger brothers
are eligible for the above exercise. The application forms
to these pupils on Monday, 27 June. Completed forms must be
returned to the school office by Thursday, 30 June as the dates
for registration are 5 and 6 July,

are eligible. Children born between 2 Jan 1997 and 1 Jan 1999
(both dates inclusive) and who have not previously been registered
for primary one are also eligible.
If
you do not receive an application form and you have a younger
son who is eligible, you may request for a form through your
son. There is no need for you to come to school. We will appreciate
if you could do this by 29 June.
If you have any
queries regarding the Primary One Registration Exercise 2005,
please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Grace Khoo (Vice-Principal)
or Ms Eileen Seow (Administration Executive) at 6250-633.

should submit their application forms directly to ACS(I) if
you have not already done so. The closing date is Friday, 1
July 2005.

making arrangements for our Primary 6 pupils to visit ACS(I)
for a school tour. Details will be given at a later date.
3. Update of Pupil’s Particulars
The
Pupil management System (PMS) at MOE receives updates of addresses
directly from the Ministry of Home Affairs. As such, parents
are advised to update their addresses officially as soon as
there is a change as we are unable to manually update addresses
at the school level. The information reflected on the form
that will be issued to your son/ward on Tuesday, 5 July is
the latest captured from the system.
We also require other data from the PMS. We would like accurate
data and we seek your cooperation to help us check and confirm
the accuracy of the data
reflected in the form that will be given to you son/ward. Should there be any
missing data, kindly complete the form and return it to your son’s/ward’s
class teacher by Tuesday, 12 July.
4. Youth Day – Monday, 4
July 2005
Youth Day is a
school holiday. Pupils need not come to school on this day.
Pupils will receive
the above on Tuesday, 5 July 2005.
Let us continue
to work closely together to see how we can help our pupils
to do their best for the coming preliminary examinations.
6. Support for our Brother School – ACS(J)
ACS
is a family of 6 schools. Being members of the same family,
we support each other in many of our activities. In the past
few years, our brother schools have supported us in our fund
raising efforts. ACS(J) will be having their MEGA-CARNIVAL
on Saturday, 16 July 2005. More details can be found at the
school website – http:// schools.moe.edu.sg/acs_junior/
7. Library Week (11-15 July 2005)
The
school will be organizing a Library Week from 11-15 July 2005.
A series of activities – talks, quizzes, sale of books,
etc. – have been planned for the pupils. In conjunction
with this event, our PSG is organizing a special fund raising
project for Lee Wei Kong through the sale of a book - History
of the Olympics - written by one of the parents of our pupils,
Dr Nick Alpin. A special book signing session is planned for
Wednesday, 13 July from 12 to 1pm in the Auditorium.
8. Racial Harmony Day – Thursday,
21 July 2005
As
a school, we will be celebrating Racial Harmony Day. I would
like to encourage all parents/guardian to encourage their son/ward
to come to school on that day dressed in the ethnic costume
of another race. This would remind all our pupils of the importance
to live in harmony with the many races in Singapore. If you
are unable to get the ethnic costumes of another race, your
son/ward should come dressed in your own ethnic costume.

hearts, our hope, our aims are one”.
